Following extreme weather conditions in the region, IKEA Exeter will now open on Thursday 10th May, 2018. Work on new junction and resurfacing on A361 ahead of schedule

Construction of a new junction to the east of Tiverton and nearby resurfacing work on the A361 remains on schedule, despite the recent bad weather.

Devon County Council says that that scheme is progressing well and it is expected that the traffic contraflow between the Bolham Roundabout and Craze Lowman bridge, which has enabled resurfacing on the eastbound carriageway, will be removed during an overnight closure from 8pm on Thursday (22 March) evening.

The behaviour of birds on and around the River Exe Estuary is to be monitored for the next three years to understand the effects of people and their activities on this important wildlife habitat.

Monitoring of birds will help measure the effect of new Wildlife Refuges at Exmouth and Dawlish Warren, which will come into force in September 2018.

The Wildlife Refuges were agreed by the South East Devon Habitat Regulations Executive Committee (SEDHREC) in October 2017 , following a 9 month public consultation.

The Hospiscare charity shop in Cowick Street, Exeter, has found a new lease of life since focussing on providing mobility aids alongside its usual homewares and clothing.

Charity auction to fix a leaky school roof in Mumbai

A Charity Auction will be held on 17th April at The Canopy in South Street, Exeter to raise money to fix the roof of a school for children living in the slums of Mumbai.

In October of last year Daniel Hiller, director of Vision ICT, worked with SlumAid and volunteered at a school in Sion, South Mumbai which was set up by the local charity Lok Seva Sangam (LSS).
