Organisers of the Exeter Food festival have announced a star-studded line up of chefs and producers for the May bank holiday event including, Mitch Tonks, Michael Caines, Gareth Howarth and Josh Eggleton. The annual food and music festival sees thousands of foodies flock to Exeter Castle and Northernhay Gardens to indulge in regional produce and see the region’s top culinary talent in action.

Van Der Sluys leaves the Chiefs

Wilhelm Van Der Sluys has bid an emotional farewell to Exeter Chiefs, bringing to an end his two-season association with the Gallagher Premiership club.

The South African-born forward said his goodbyes to everyone at Sandy Park on Tuesday, before jetting back to his homeland to take up a contract offer with Super Rugby outfit, the Lions.

Tickets go on sale for brand new festival in Exeter

Tickets have gone on sale for a new Exeter Festival this summer.Multi-platinum, chart-topping band The Hoosiers, best known for their singles ‘Worried About Ray’ and Goodbye Mr. A’ will be headlining the three-day event.

The new Exeter Festival takes place over the weekend of Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July.

Exeter wins funding to tackle homelessness

Exeter has won funding to help get homeless people off the streets and into homes, the City Council has announced.

Exeter City Council will received £120,800 from the government.

One of the many problems the Council faces is getting homeless people into private rented properties. Often landlords will achieve higher rents from elsewhere in the market.
