Storybook Dads, the Devon-based charity that works to support prisoners in maintaining relationships with their children through stories and reading, has received £1,000 from fellow charity Libraries Unlimited.
Chief Executive of Libraries Unlimited, Ciara Eastell OBE and Vice Chair of the Board of trustees, David Lockwood, visited the charity at its headquarters at Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) Channings Wood to present the team with the cheque and have a tour of the facilities.
The money was raised by Ciara and David last year when they both took part in sponsored runs....

Ambitious plans to make Exeter a global leader in low vehicle emissions unveiled
Business leaders from across Exeter and Devon are being invited to attend a major launch event at Exeter City Football Club next Thursday evening (25 April), where details of a city-wide campaign to slash vehicle emissions will be launched under the Breathe Exeter initiative.

Over 700 animal lovers and their dogs came together at Powderham Castle in Exeter last weekend (Saturday 13 April) to take part in Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s Muddy Dog Challenge. The event, which is proudly supported by Seresto flea and tick control collar, has raised around £70,000 so far, which will go towards the vital care of the thousands of homeless animals that Battersea helps every year.
It was the first time the Muddy Dog Challenge has come to Exeter which involves participants and their dogs jumping, crawling and wading through various fun obstacles.
