On Wednesday 15 May, Swanaford Vineyard in the beautiful Teign Valley will open for its first tour of 2019. The tour starts at 1.30pm with a guided walk through the vines and a detailed talk through the process of planting and maintaining a Devon vineyard.

Then relax in the beautiful tasting barn and try the sparkling and still wines produced by the vineyard.

Booking is essential by phone, email or through the website. Dogs on leads are very welcome and children under 16 are free. Standard entry is £12.50 per person. Swanaford was planted in 2016 and mainly produces sparkling wine from the three grape varieties traditionally used in Champagne.

10,000 vines planted across 10 acres make up the vineyard, which is situated on the edge of the River Teign, just 7 miles from Exeter.

Tours take place every Wednesday at 1.30 until harvest in October when things get too busy! But wine-lovers can buy wine from the cellar door at any time.
