Local artist to create art installation at Exmouth Watersports Centre celebrating sustainability and nature 

Exmouth-based artist, Anna Fitzgerald of Seadog Art has been working closely with five local schools to produce a number of larger than life paintings for the Exmouth Watersports Centre.

Creating hundreds of paintings at any one time, Anna Fitzgerald celebrates nature and wildlife through her unique and vibrant paintings.

With construction due to start on the Exmouth Watersports Centre from June 2019, Grenadier, the project developer, is keen to retain the beauty of the area throughout the build process by working with the local artist and schools to design the hoarding....

For the first time, grown-up sons will be able to take part alongside their mothers as Cancer Research UK opens up the Race for Life events to everyone.

Rachel Hamilton, 27 from Exeter, is a Hospiscare staff nurse and has been working for the local charity on the ward at Searle House for two years. At the end of 2018 Rachel married Ben Turner who also has connections to Hospiscare volunteering as a Trustee.

The wedding took place at Dartington Hall at Christmas and as Rachel is a member of the Hospiscare Choir it seemed only natural to ask the Choir to sing during their ceremony. Hospiscare’s annual Coffee Morning event is now under way. Throughout the area, people are signing up to raise funds for the local charity by holding coffee mornings in their homes, community halls and even their local parks. Businesses, too, are getting ready to bake and boil for Hospiscare.

Last year, Hospiscare supporters held more than 100 coffee mornings, together raising over £15,000. The charity is hoping to beat that target this year and hoping to raise a whopping £30,000.

On Thursday 2 May residents in East Devon will go to the polls to have their say on who represents them on their district, town and parish councils. In order to vote in this important election, residents must be on the electoral register and the deadline to register is fast approaching. National survey reveals top marks for Exeter care home

RMBI Home Cadogan Court in Exeter has received top marks in a nationwide survey of care home residents. The results showed that 100% of residents polled said that they were satisfied with the overall standard of care in their Home and that they were overall happy living there.

Amongst the findings, 100% of residents said that staff treat them with kindness, dignity and respect and that the Home is a safe and secure place to live. 100% of residents polled said that they can have visitors when they want and that the Home is clean and tidy.
