Veterans With Dogs is delighted to announce it has been chosen by the Phoenix Group’s Armed Forces Network as its charity of the year for 2019. The company has donated £25,000 to the charity to buy, train and fund a fully qualified assistance dog throughout its working life and the Armed Forces Network is also holding a number of fundraising events throughout the remainder of the year.

Fish in the River Exe can swim easier upstream now a fish pass has temporarily been extended. Except during times of heavy flow, salmon and trout have been unable to get beyond Trews Weir in Exeter after the water level dropped more than a metre when part of nearby St James’ Weir washed away. Devon welcomes new report calling for pavement parking ban

A new Government report calling for a nationwide ban on pavement parking has been welcomed by Devon County Council.

The Transport Committee is recommending that a new civil offence of obstructive pavement parking is created, and that enforcement becomes the responsibility of local authorities.
