Presenters ‘right on the money’ at timely PKF Francis Clark event

Over 100 business men and women attended the sixth ‘Finance in the South West’ event, which took place on the morning of 21 February 2018, at Exeter Racecourse.

The event was timely, in response to the small business financier’s Liberis research, that recently stated that “small business education is desperately required…on how to navigate the perceived minefield of financial options”.

Hosted by PKF Francis Clark, ‘Finance in the South West’ featured a total of 22 presentations by various sources of funding and/or business support agencies, covering the topics of grant, debt and equity funding.

Targeted sessions with presentations were held for start-ups and more established businesses, where delegates were given the opportunity to ask questions to the presenters on a one to one basis.

The event received fantastic feedback from delegates including “right on the money”, “worth every minute from the drive from London”, “great presentations as usual” and “fantastic event, thank you”.

Chris Eddowes, event organiser from PKF Francis Clark said: “We have received some great feedback from the people who attended the event, and there was a nice buzz at the event itself; described to me as one of the most enjoyable to date. I was interested to read on the evening prior to the event, that the uptake amongst SMEs of alternative finance has increased significantly in the past year - we had some of the major players in the alternative finance sphere in the room, and I would like to think that this event has over the years introduced them to some of the Devon and Somerset businesses.
