Winners of the 2026 Michelmores Property Awards revealed

The 23rd Michelmores Property Awards took place on 25 June 2026  at Sandy Park Conference Centre in Exeter, celebrating the very best of property development, construction and regeneration across the West of England and South West. The evening was hosted by Josh Widdicombe and brought together professionals from across the sector to celebrate this year’s shortlisted and winning projects.

The Awards continue to celebrate projects that demonstrate exceptional quality, innovation and sustainability, while making a positive contribution to their communities and the wider built environment.

Shoemakers Museum was awarded the prestigious Building of the Year 2026 title, having also secured the Leisure and Tourism Project of the Year category. The judges recognised the project as a standout example of design quality and delivery, with a strong cultural contribution and clear sense of place.

In the major project categories, Musgrove Park Hospital – Surgical Centre was named Project of the Year (Over £10m), reflecting the continued investment in high-quality healthcare infrastructure across the region. Meanwhile, BOWA MEDICAL UK HQ was awarded Project of the Year (Under £10m), recognised for delivering a specialist facility that supports innovation and growth within the medical sector.

The Regeneration Project of the Year award was presented to Factory Cooperage at Royal William Yard, a project that sensitively repurposes a historic building while contributing to the ongoing regeneration of a key waterfront destination.

In the education category, Sky Primary & Eden Project Nursery, a Department for Education pathfinder project, was recognised for its considered design and its role in supporting early years learning within an engaging and sustainable environment.

The Heritage Project of the Year award went to Plymouth Tinside Lido, acknowledging the careful restoration of one of the region’s most iconic coastal structures and extending its continued use by the community.

In the residential categories, Millstream, The Chocolate Quarter was named Residential Project of the Year (36 homes and over), while Gap House took the award for Residential Project of the Year (35 homes and under). Both schemes were recognised for sensitively repurposing land and buildings to enhance their local areas and strengthen connections within their communities.
