New business WINS at south west wedding awards
South Devon based wedding photographer, Mimosa Photography, won New Wedding Business of the Year at the recent South West Wedding Awards.
The awards recognise those businesses who exceed the expectations of their customers by providing an outstanding service.
This year, the awards held at Crown Plaza in Plymouth, saw their biggest attendance after they opened up the awards to more regions across the South West.
Businesses from Devon, Cornwall, Bristol, Somerset, Dorset and Gloucestershire were able to enter one the 22 categories which covered all areas of the wedding industry including photography, beauty services, cake designers, florists and the new business category.
The New Wedding Business category had eleven finalists included bridal shops, photographers, a videographer, a cocktail bar, printing business, florist and photobooth.
Unlike the other categories, who gather votes from clients, this category was judged by a panel who consider the criteria which includes the finalist’s work, mission statement, business and marketing plans.
The judges said “A solid business plan. This entrant shows a very committed approach to business and a good grasp of marketing including a broad understanding of social media for business. This coupled with well considered pricing and developing an edgy style of her own”
Meg set up Mimosa Photography in March 2017 and since then has photographed lots of beautiful weddings. She photographs weddings across the UK and has now started taking bookings for destination weddings.
“Every wedding is different and I aim to capture the unique essence of the day. My style of photography is natural, chic and romantic. This style seems me using natural light and I love to work alongside the natural surroundings using it to my advantage, which often results in beautiful framing to an image.”
As well as her love of wedding photography Meg loves to capture couple portraits at a location they hold close to their hearts.
“My style of photography lends itself to capturing those beautiful natural shots while on location with a couple”
