The 2017-2018 English Premier League season is in full swing as we approach the all important and pivotal Christmas period, which often decides the shape of the likely top four, along with those fighting it out for Europa League places and indeed the teams that will be contesting a relegation battle.

One team that won’t have such  a problem is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who sit a tidy eight points clear at the top of the table after a run of frighteningly good results in the past couple of months.

Manchester United came out of the blocks fast, but it is the blue side of Manchester very much in the driving seat now. Top football news along with latest free bets are easy to access regularly on the likes of https://freebets.uk and the main man of the moment in the Premier League news is very much Pep Guardiola who has been named manager of the month for two months in a row now.

Manchester City are red hot favourites at odds of just 1/6 to win the Premier League and while there is still a long way to go until the final few fixtures, it looks quite unlikely that anyone can catch them, particularly with Arsenal and Liverpool struggling down in 5th & 6th place.

Man City scored an impressive 13 goals from their three Premier League games during October, on a ruthless rampage which has seen them become by far the standout side. They produced another dominant performance on their latest game at Leicester City securing a comfortable 2-0 to maintain their 8-point lead at the top.

Second favourites for the league title are Tottenham Hotspur currently priced at around 28/1, and while they are currently playing some very attractive football, it is a big ask to expect them to go on a run of results required to trouble Man City, unless the front-runners completely lose the plot.

With Harry Kane leading the frontline for Spurs though, anything is possible. He is joint top scorer at the moment with Sergio Aguero and if the North London side are to keep up this level of form, they will need their best player to keep firing on all cylinders and most importantly, remain injury and suspension free.

The run up to Christmas and indeed the major Boxing Day fixtures are an exciting time for football fans and the Premier League is where all the main action is… and let’s not even mention the January transfer window!
