A 39-year old man has died following a fall from a flat window in Exeter on Friday 10th July.

Police attended St James Road, Exeter following concerns for a man in one of the properties.

Police remained outside the property and were able to engage in discussions with the man, who was communicating from the third floor flat window.

Whilst police were at the scene and in discussions with the man, it appears that he fell from the window of the flat and suffered a serious head injury.

Police officers gave emergency treatment to the man following the fall and prior to paramedics arriving, but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

The case has been referred to the IPCC by Devon and Cornwall Police.
