What is the Life in the UK Test?

The Life in the UK test is a requirement for any individual that is looking to apply for British Citizenship or an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). The test was introduced to ensure that applicants have a good understanding of British traditions, laws, beliefs, the political system and the English language.

The test is computer based and it consists of 24 questions which must be completed in 45 minutes. In order to pass the test students must achieve a grade of 75% or more.

There are several sections that are covered such as: like British values, history, traditions, and regular daily life in the UK. The test was first introduced in 2005 and is still a requirement to this day.

How to pass the test

There is no shortcuts or easy way to pass the test. Students must practice and learn the history of the UK and it’s laws. The test has received some negative press and has been referred to as a “pub quiz” but it is still an essential part of the British Citizenship process.

The test is difficult and many people that were born in the UK struggle with it and therefore practicing is essential.

So are you ready to give it a try? If the answer is yes then you’re probably wondering how you can test your knowledge. There are several websites that offer free tests but one of the best for practice questions is uAcademy. Their Life in the UK Practice Tests were created with the sole purpose of helping  all students pass the test quickly and easily. The company allows anyone to have a go at the test for free and they offer 10 practice tests that are all taken from the latest 2020 Official Life in the UK Test Papers and are based on the Official 3rd Edition Handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A guide for new residents.

The Life in the UK test can be pretty simple if you take the time out to do practice tests. uAcademy offers these tests free of charge with no registration requirements. The company also offers mortgage advisor courses.
