Measures in place to minimise disruption during Freshers' Week

The University of Exeter Students’ Guild is gearing up to manage the impact of the influx of some 7,000 new arrivals. Exeter School pleased with Results

Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another set of very good A Level results with an overall pass rate of 100% for the tenth year in a row. 18% of all grades were A* and 56% of grades were either A* or A. 84% of all grades were A* - B. High Pass Rates throughout Exeter

Exeter's students have recieved their A-Level results and local schools have been reporting overall successes.

The university application body UCAS has revealed the highest number of applicant acceptances recorded for A level results day.

UCAS says it has processed all A-Level results with 385,910 applicants already accepted into a UK university or college, up 31,600 (nine per cent) on results day last year.

100% Pass rate for Maynard School

The Maynard School have achieved excellent A-Level results this year, with all of their A2 students passing at A2 level.

60% of students had A* or A Grades, and 85% of students gained A*- B Grades.

A spokesperson for the school said: “This year we are delighted that all of our students have gained a place at their choice of university. Many are going on to study at Russell Group universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Warwick, York, Durham, Southampton and St Andrews.”

Exeter scores high in the National Student Satisfaction Survey

91% of University of Exeter students in their final year are satisfied with the quality of their university course.

The latest National Student Survey (NSS) has found that 85% of students are satisfied with their degree, meaning the University of Exeter has maintained its top 10 position for its ninth year, since the survey’s launch.

The University of Exeter usually scores highly on league tables and, in 2012, was deemed “Sunday Times University of the Year 2012/13”.

A gorilla has enrolled at the University of Exeter.

The giant primate arrived wrapped in pretend brown paper, tied with mock string and covered in air mail stickers, stamps and franks from South Africa, Canada, Indonesia, Australia and Cuba.
