Exeter School Sixth Formers got a taste of the working world when they experienced two weekends of practice interviews.

The Upper Sixth Formers were interviewed by local and national professionals, including Exeter School alumni, at Gilbert Stephens LLP Solicitors and the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building in Exeter.

Every year, during late September and early October, Exeter School’s Upper Sixth pupils are given the chance to experience a general interview away from school.

Every effort is made to match the pupil to an interviewer with...

Although the Rugby World Cup won’t always be on, and it won’t always be hosted in England, meaning there won’t always be an Exeter fan zone, watching a game from the fan zone was a great way to start getting involved in the city.

I chose to head down for the Ireland Vs France game – primarily because my boyfriend is from Belfast and he was dying to go, but also because it was set to be a good game. More importantly, the weather was perfect. One of those crisp autumn days that’s cold enough to feel a hint of Christmas but it was still comfortable.

Now, I’m not going to claim...

Robbie said the experience was incredibly independent and unique.

"No other work placement that I have seen gives the individual so much control over what they do, or trusts them with techniques so fully.

"Our project aim, and methods...

Exeter School's Sixth Form Charity Committee has helped raise valuable funds for local charity, Hospiscare, as well as the Karen Hill Tribes Trust run by alumnus Will Harnden.

The team held the charitable event in the school playing fields, where teams battled each other playing bubble football alongside welly throwing, face painting and a multitude of fairground games. Thanks to Laser Camp who provided the bouncy castle and inflatable football arena for free.

Refreshments were provided in the form of a delicious BBQ, cake stall and fruit juices which were kindly provided...

As a second year student at the University of Exeter you’d think I’d know a fair bit about the city we live in. Hmmm…. Maybe not. I know where the campus is – does that count?

There are a few essential things to do in Exeter that I can happily say I have ticked off my bucket list – like visit the Exeter Phoenix, Cavern, the Bike Shed, Northcott Theatre – I’ve even visited both Exmouth and Dawlish. Yet, when I see posts on the internet of ‘Fresher’s Bucket List’s and whatnot, I get quite embarrassed.

I’m afraid that in a little over 18 months’ time I will leave the...

The purpose of the internship programme is to provide school leavers, undergraduates and graduates with an opportunity to gain experience in the workplace through participating in projects or tasks which support our business.

The interns have found there are great personal benefits in taking up this opportunity.

As University of Exeter student Binu explains “The work itself was challenging yet I was able to successfully...

Exeter has low crime rates compared to other student cities

If like the majority of college students going into their final year you have been faced with the mammoth task of applying to university, making a decision when it comes to choosing just five universities that you’d like to apply for can understandably be really tough. With so many universities offering loads of benefits and great stuff for their students, picking just five can be tricky – and there is a lot for you to take into consideration. Whilst you’re thinking about predicted grades, the degree course that you’d like to apply for, and how far away from your parental home you’d like...
