Devon County Council and Tour organisers SweetSpot have confirmed that Devon will host Stage Two of the UK’s premier cycle race on Monday 7 September 2020. The Tour of Britain has already unveiled Cornwall as the location of the Grand Depart on Sunday 6 September 2020. The following day, the race will move across the border for the Devon Stage, which will start in the new community of Sherford in the South Hams and finish in Exeter city centre. Match report: Bradford City 2 City 0

Exeter City slipped to their third away defeat on the spin in an action-packed game at Bradford City.

The Grecians were reduced to nine men in the 2-0 loss, with both Jake Taylor and Tom Parkes seeing red, while the hosts also had a man sent-off, Callum Cooke, for two bookable offences.

That ill-discipline will have been an annoyance to manager Matt Taylor as well as some sloppy defending that saw them fail to deal with routine balls into their box for Bradford’s first and second goals.

The City manager kept with the same starting XI that had beaten Plymouth so...

What are the odds for Exeter City to finish in the top five?

Coming off the back of a markedly mediocre 2018-19 season, Exeter City is looking at the 2019-20 season with redemption in mind and a renewed vigour as they look to make good on all the promises they had made in the run-up to last season. After an up-and-down start in 2018 under the new management of Matt Taylor, fans of The Grecians are hoping the team can kick on in 2019-20 now that he has got a year’s worth of experience under his belt.

Initially, the word on the street out there was that there was a hint — even if only a very slight one — that things were already looking up for...

Match report: City 4 Plymouth Argyle 0

A second-half onslaught from Exeter City gave the Grecians a famous 4-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle, in what was a breahtaking Devon Derby at a sold-out St James Park on Saturday.

In what was the first league meeting between the two sides in three seasons, City totally blew away their Devon rivals after an initially cagey opening.

City boss Matt Taylor made a wholesale six changes to the starting XI from Tuesday night’s game- with Pierce Sweeney, Craig Woodman, Lee Martin, Nicky Law, Randell Williams and captain Jake Taylor all coming into the Grecian line-up for the derby...

Stuart Hogg says he’s relishing being thrown in at the deep end ahead of his Exeter Chiefs debut against Bath in the Gallagher Premiership tomorrow night (7:45pm).

Rob Baxter will thrust the Scottish international straight into the fray for his new club at The Rec, less than two weeks after he arrived in Devon from his exertions with the national side at the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Having watched on from the sidelines as last season’s beaten Premiership finalists kicked off their season with a hard-fought win over Harlequins, the 27-year-old is one of five changes Baxter...

Chiefs side to face Bath

Rob Baxter has called for a greater focus from his Exeter Chiefs side this week, despite kicking off their Gallagher Premiership campaign with victory over Harlequins last Saturday.

Tomorrow, Devon's finest make the short trip to local rivals Bath, looking to build on what was a hard-fought triumph in their seasonal opener.

Jonny Hill's first half touchdown, combined with 17 points from the boot of fly-half Joe Simmonds, proved sufficient enough to see of the Londoners at Sandy Park. However, Director of Rugby Baxter is looking for another step up in standards from his...

How do bookmakers set odds?

Ever wondered how do bookies make odds or how do bookmakers set odds to be more accurate. If you are a punter who cares for his money then you should have, even if you don’t have the ambition to become a future trader. The first thing you need to know is how to calculate odds and understand the math behind them. This will help you understand if the offered lines have value or not and whether your bookmaker is giving you a fair price or you should be searching for something better. Betting odds and how they work might not be the easiest thing to comprehend, however, it is also not one of...

Report: Cambridge United 4 City 0

Exeter City fell to a heavy defeat away at Cambridge United as they were beaten by four goals to nil at the Abbey Stadium.

The Grecians started the match slowly and gave away the ball too often in midfield in the first half as they went into the break deservedly behind. However, City began the second half with purpose and almost got back into the match before Cambridge United hit them with a sucker-punch just before the hour, with their second goal, and then added two more on the break.

Manager Matt Taylor made one change from the side that had beaten Forest Green Rovers...
