There was an all star local line up when Exeter Chiefs rugby player Tom Johnson launched his testimonial.

Hundreds of guests enjoyed the summer sunshine at Rockbeare Manor, which has recently undergone refurbishment.

Among those present were many of the current Chiefs squad including Jack Yeandle, Carl Rimmer, Haydn Thomas and Kai Horstman.

Deservedly earning the reputation for being one of the nicest men in rugby, Tom has played a key role in the success of the Exeter Chiefs and enjoyed the rare honour of playing for his country.

Pierce Sweeney has joined Exeter City on a trial basis and claims it was the club’s ambition that drew him to the Grecians. The 21 year old right back was released by Reading at the start of the summer and he is keen to impress during pre-season in the hope of securing a permanent deal with Exeter.

Quay climbing competition to make a return!

EXETER’S Quay will be buzzing this August Bank Holiday weekend as it plays host to some of the world’s top climbers at a spectacular climbing competition.

Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the thrilling climbing event on the Quay - and if you fancy dropping off a seven metre wall into the canal - they’ll also be a chance for novices to have a go.

Exeter Racecourse has announced it is sponsoring at Bicton Arena’s international horse trials which take place in East Devon on August 19 to 21. The racecourse is supporting the prestigious CIC2* which includes a £500 prize to the highest placed seven-year-old horse competing in the class.
