Exeter Cathedral to Host City’s Largest Volunteer Fair

Exeter Community Initiatives is delighted to announce the return of the Exeter Volunteer Fair, taking place on Thursday 23 April 2026, 11am–2pm at Exeter Cathedral.

This free-to-attend, drop-in event will bring together 75 local charities and community organisations, offering residents the chance to explore hundreds of volunteering opportunities in one place. With over 800 people expected to attend, the fair is the largest volunteering event of its kind in Exeter.

The Devon General Society and Stagecoach South West are teaming up to commemorate 100 years of bus travel in the region.

The Devon General Omnibus and Touring Company started bus operations in South and East Devon in 1919, with the first route between Exeter and Torquay still going strong today. A church in Exeter is launching a new afternoon service and is inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to come and explore the Christian faith, perhaps for the first time.

Rediscover Church in Northernhay Street, Exeter already has 2 morning services on a Sunday at 9.30am and 11.30am welcoming hundreds of people from all walks of life through its doors. They also stream live online to a local and international audience.

Tesco Extra shoppers in Exeter have bagged £4,000 for a charity helping families affected by the suicide of a loved-one.

Customers at the Exeter Vale store voted for the cash to go to Pete’s Dragons as part of the supermarket’s Bags of Help scheme.

The vital funding – from the sale of plastic carrier bags - will aid the Exmouth-based charity in continuing its work supporting hundreds of suicide-bereaved people across Devon.

Pets at Home host free pet workshops across Devon this Easter

The Easter holidays can prove a challenge when it comes to finding fun activities for the children. Pets at Home has the answer, with its free interactive ‘My Pet Pals’ workshops, held in store between 6th April – 28th April 2019.
