Teenager targeted online says law change is needed as it’s revealed cyber-related sex crimes against children up to almost one every hour

Children are increasingly being targeted on the web by sex offenders – with an average of 22 crimes a day taking place online last year, NSPCC figures have revealed.

Last year, a record 8,224 child sexual offences logged by police in England, Wales and Northern Ireland had an online element, according to figures obtained by the NSPCC through a Freedom of Information request.

Today, schools from around East Devon attended The Big Bang Fair South West 2019 at Westpoint Arena Exeter, hosted by CSW Group.

Patients highly rate the RD&E in CQC annual inpatient survey

Patients at the RD&E highly rate the services provided, according to survey results released this week.

The annual Care Quality Commission (CQC) Inpatient Survey looked at the care of 706 inpatients who were discharged from the RD&E in July 2018. Patients assessed the Trust on a variety of areas during their stay, including the time it took for patients to get a bed on the ward, the care received from clinical and non-clinical staff and their overall views of the care and services provided by the Trust.

Candles on the Canal is a new event hosted by local charity Hospiscare . Its purpose is to bring hundreds of local people together for a relaxed and uplifting evening in memory of loved ones who have died, taking place on Saturday 21 September from 4:30pm. Stagecoach bus companies across the UK are helping to support Armed Forces Day 2019. With events planned across the country, it is a chance to celebrate the great work of our Armed Forces. Stagecoach South West is offering free travel for armed forces personnel, as part of the Armed Forces Day celebrations.

This Armed Forces Day, SSAFA calls on the nation to update their view of the Forces and celebrate the ‘everyday’ heroes serving our country

New research from SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, reveals outdated misconceptions of the modern-day military are having a concerning impact on public support for the Forces.

The public is invited to see women in science present their research in Princesshay on Saturday June 29.

Temporary closure of path near Kings Arms Swing Bridge

Work is nearing completion on the replacement of the Kings Arms Swing Bridge near Exeter Quay. The new 15-metre span steel structure has now been lifted into place, and to enable the path to be reinstated on either side of the crossing, the paths leading to the pedestrian swing bridge will need to be closed for four days this week.

The path near the bridge will be closed from 7:30am tomorrow (Tuesday 25 June) and is expected to reopen by Saturday morning (29 June).

A signed diversion will be in place, advising people to use the route around the Quay using Cricklepit...
