Last call for patients eligible for Covid-19 spring vaccine

NHS Devon has issued a ‘last call’ for at-risk patients eligible for the spring 2025 Covid-19 vaccine.

The spring booster campaign ends on June 17, and patients who meet the criteria are being urged to book before it’s too late.

Covid-19 is more serious in older people and those with certain underlying health conditions. For these reasons, the vaccine is being offered to people:

  • Aged 75 years and over
  • In care homes
  • Aged six months and over with a weakened immune system.

Cranbrook plan submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for examination

East Devon District Council has submitted the Cranbrook Plan, including supporting evidence and consultation responses, to the Secretary of State for examination.

The Cranbrook Plan will sit alongside the East Devon Local Plan and will shape the future development of the town at Cranbrook. It is hoped that the plan, which was submitted on 2 August 2019, will be examined during the autumn of this year and, if found sound, could be adopted early in 2020.

Cycling as a family helps to improve children’s mental health, say parents in south west England.

Exeter College is celebrating another year of exceptional academic results, following the best International Baccalaureate results in the college’s history earlier this summer. Two Emergency Medicine doctors at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust are swapping their scrubs for the sea as they attempt to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean, in aid of Devon Air Ambulance.

Charlie Fleury and Rosie Alterman, who make up the ‘EmergenSea Girls’, are planning to take part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in December 2020.
