Public Consultation Opens on Proposed Merger Between Exeter College and Petroc

Exeter College and Petroc have today launched a public consultation on a proposed merger that would see two Devon colleges come together to form a new College Group.

If approved, the new organisation, the Exeter and North Devon Colleges Group (ENDC), would serve more than 16,000 learners across Devon, employ nearly 2,000 staff and have a combined turnover exceeding £100 million.

Historic England is calling on people across the South West to share images that document their experience of seven days in “Lockdown”. Ten contemporary artists from across the nation, including Malaika Kegode have also been chosen to produce special images over the week.

ORGANISERS of the annual Dartmoor Folk Festival have announced that this year's event, which was due to take place over three days at South Zeal in August, has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A WESTCOUNTRY legal practice says children are at risk of harm as cases of domestic abuse rise during the COVID-19 outbreak (May 2020).

CoronaUnity, a non-profit organisation helping those in need during the Covid-19 pandemic, has launched a telephone service in the UK connecting those experiencing loneliness through isolation with volunteers who are available for a friendly chat. Their PhoneAFriend venture comes as a result of the challenging isolation guidelines released by the UK government to tackle Covid-19. A housing association charity has increased practical support for rough sleepers and the homeless in and around Exeter because of the national emergency.
