DEVON folk are invited to an award-winning pub in Devon next month (August 2020) to take advantage of the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The Swan, in Bampton, will give customers 50% off all food and drink every Tuesday and Wednesday, excluding alcohol, from August 4 until 26.

Paul Berry, Co-owner of The Swan with his wife and fellow award-winning chef, Donna, said: “The Government’s new Eat Out to Help Out scheme runs every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, however we are closed on Mondays, so will be offering customers 50% off all food and drink every Tuesday and Wednesday, excluding alcohol, up to a maximum of £10 discount per person.

“We hope this will help people get back out there and dine at their favourite places once again.

“We have social distancing measures in place at The Swan and are following the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Government guidelines, and showing extra diligence through additional cleaning measures to ensure we go above and beyond our already excellent standards of hygiene.

“The Swan has also been certified COVID secure by Visit England. We look forward to seeing everyone again and hope they enjoy our tasty menus.”

The Swan, which is an AA Four Star Gold Inn and is the oldest pub in Bampton, was named as one of the top 50 gastropubs in the country for the fourth year running in 2020.

The pub has recently retained its four AA Gold Stars as well as two AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence for five years running and was named by the AA as the nation’s ‘Inn of the Year’ 2019.

The Swan was named Gold Tourism Pub of the Year 2018 at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and was voted Best Dining Pub for 2018 in the Trencherman Awards.

Donna was also one of three finalists in the Devon Life and Trencherman Awards in 2018.
