The NIHR-supported RECOVERY trial has shown that tocilizumab - an anti- inflammatory rheumatoid arthritis treatment - reduces the risk of death for hospitalised patients with severe COVID-19.

Researchers also found that the drug reduces the length of hospital admission, and the risk of patients requiring mechanical ventilation.

Exeter’s community-owned Real Food Store has announced a partnership with Exeter Foodbank , to support vulnerable and low-income Exeter residents to access high quality, local produce.

The collaboration is part of the Real Food Store’s ‘Round It Up’ scheme, launched at the beginning of February. Freezing conditions are continuing to grip Devon and there is further risk of snow showers and icy patches early tomorrow morning.

The University of Exeter has applied for planning permission to put an industrial yard on its Streatham campus which will adjoin the Duryard Valley Nature Reserve, the Exeter Community Garden and the Hoopern Valley part of the Exeter Green Circle.
