Exeter Chamber held their annual general meeting at Exeter College on Monday 8th November, where two new board directors were officially appointed. Bay Education Trust, a multi-academy trust comprising Paignton Academy, Kings Ash Academy and Curledge Street Academy has announced that it is strengthening its existing partnership with South Devon College by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Over the past four years, South Devon College has become the main post 16-route for the Trust’s Paignton Academy students, it is the secondary school’s ‘Sixth Form’ of choice with 90 per cent of students choosing South Devon College after their GCSEs.

£500,000 fuel poverty fund opens for grant applications

Charities, councils and community groups are being urged to help support families to heat their homes this winter by applying for grants of up to £10,000.

The £500,000 fund has been provided by local electricity distributor Western Power Distribution (WPD) in a bid to tackle fuel poverty in the community. Applications are now open at www.westernpower.co.uk/community-matters-fund .
