Budleigh Salterton-based Hilary Mantel’s controversial story ‘The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher’ has made the shortlist for the BBC National Short Story Award 2015 with Book Trust. Unpublished stories by ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ author Mark Haddon, Jonathan Buckley, Frances Leviston, and Jeremy Page are also in the running for this year’s Award. Devon schoolboy Olly Croker who died after a freak accident during a football match has given the gift of life to five other children.

The 12-year-old was struck by a wooden pole during the match between Bradninch and Bampton on Saturday and was flown to Frenchay hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.

A leading communications infrastructure company, has partnered with Exeter Airport to deliver free WiFi connectivity, to passengers travelling throughout the terminal building.

Previously, free WiFi had only been available for 30 minutes in centralised departure lounge areas. However, following an upgrade delivered by Arqiva, any passenger can now access up to 60 minutes of free WiFi connectivity daily, with coverage provided across all areas of the terminal building*. After one hour, access to the internet is chargeable at £3 an hour or £5 for three hours.
