Mayor breaks ground at new Topsham Retirement Living Plus development

The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Trish Oliver, donned a hard hat last week to help break the ground at McCarthy Stone’s latest Topsham Retirement Living Plus development, Pym Court on Beswick Avenue.

The Lord Mayor joined McCarthy Stone’s Senior Site Manager, Allen Hickman, and Assistant Site Manager, Tim Jackson, to take a closer look at development plans and mark construction at the site.

The new development will be made up of a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments exclusively designed for the over 70s. The properties will be available to buy off-plan in early 2022 and first occupants are expected in summer 2022.

The Lord Mayor commented: “It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy Stone’s new development in Topsham as construction is now underway. It was a great opportunity to meet the site manager and hear first-hand about the developer’s newest retirement community, which will help to meet the housing needs of retirees in Topsham and the surrounding areas.”
