Victoria Park Tennis Club is offering free tennis taster sessions for all ages in Princesshay Square on Sunday 5 July from 11am – 2pm to celebrate the iconic Wimbledon championships.

Princesshay will transform the square into centre court for the day, rolling out the grass and nets for an afternoon of Wimbledon inspired fun. Visitors that are looking to embark on a new hobby or fancy themselves as the next Andy Murray are invited to join Exeter’s

Victoria Park Tennis Club for the chance to learn new skills and enjoy the spirit of Wimbledon in Exeter’s city centre.

Catherine Jones of Victoria Park Tennis Club said: “Wimbledon is the highlight of the tennis calendar for us and it’s a great way to inspire and raise the profile of the game. We hope that the visitors to Princesshay will come and have a go and learn some new skills or join us for a rally or two!”

Keeping with the Wimbledon spirit, Café Rouge will be sampling and serving Pimms while wagamama will be sampling the tastes of their new mix and match menu across the lunch time period.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director, says, “While the tennis players at Wimbledon are taking their rest day, Princesshay will be a hub of tennis excitement. We hope that visitors of all ages will have a go and discover a new love for the game!”

Victoria Park Tennis Club is a family-friendly club situated in the heart of Exeter. It works in partnership with the Exeter Tennis Centre to co-ordinate and deliver comprehensive coaching for all ages and abilities throughout the year.
