Exeter has gone rugby world cup creative over the past two weeks with the creation of a Street Band, school workshops, a Creative Hub at Emmanuel Hall and all leading up to a colourful, creative and spectacular parade through Exeter City Centre to the Northernhay Gardens FanZone on the Saturday 10th October.

Produced by internationally renowned outdoor celebratory arts company Walk the Plank plans and activities are well underway and continuing this week with workshops at the Creative Hub (Emmanuel Hall) and more school workshops with nationally renowned artists.
Creative Hub Workshop

On Wednesday 30 September a session led by artist Tony Minion will take place, which has invited all teachers from participating schools across the Exeter region, PGCE students, drama students from the University of Exeter and support artists who are working on the Exeter Rugby World Cup Parade to take part in a free workshop where Tony will be passing on techniques and skills on the creation of creative backpacks for the parade but which can also be used on future projects.

All of the workshops and the items made within them will lead up to the parade on Saturday 10 October.

School Workshops

Nationally recognised artists have been visiting schools across Exeter, working with pupils to make banners, costumes and objects which will all play a part in the parade. ISCA Academy pupils worked with Tony Minion on the 28 / 29 September and the school feedback that students ‘loved’ the workshops. Walk the Plank will work with seven schools in the region and work with over 200 students who will also play a role in the Rugby World Cup Exeter Parade.
