QE A-Level students received their results, at the school’s Western Road campus, this morning.
Rupert Poole, Principal at QE said; “QE staff are all very proud of the achievements of our young people today. Our students have faced a difficult six months and they have shown tremendous resilience, a core QE value. Those values will stand them in good stead, and now that the long wait for the results is over, they can concentrate on their future.
Overall we are very pleased with the outcomes for our young people, the vast majority of our students got their university of choice, including two students heading to Oxbridge, and we wish all our students the very best as they take their next steps.
Whilst the process to award the grades was different this year, none of that should take away from the hard work that students put into their studies - they have the right to feel proud of their achievements. Students and staff have worked hard to ensure that process was done fairly and we will continue to do everything we can to support all our students.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff who have worked hard to support all the students throughout their time at QE and I wish all of our students the very best for the future. My message to them is to remember that the values of respect, reflection and resilience will get you a long way, no matter what is thrown at you.”
Jo Cherrett, Head of Sixth Form said; “This year group has been a fantastic group of young people to work with and I will be very sorry to see them go! They have been so positive and enthusiastic, and have dealt with the current challenges so well, I could not be more proud of them – my best wishes to you all.”
Mr Poole added; “Term starts again on the 7th September and we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students to our highly successful 6th form.”
Applications for QE Sixth Form are welcome for our September 2020 intake. Enrolment day takes place at College House on Wednesday 2nd September between 1.15pm-3.15pm.
