Flybe announce price lock-down scheme

Exeter-based Flybe has announced a new scheme which allows customers to book flights and to hold a "Price Lock-Down" fare for 24 hours before confirming and paying for their Flybe flight.

Travel planners will now have the benefit of being able to check and finalise all their travel details knowing that the price of a flight will held with the "Price Lock-Down". Customers may then confirm their held Fare within 24 hours by retrieving their Price Lock-Down booking on Flybe.com.

Bus services to the new community of Cranbrook will be introduced by Devon County Council from Tuesday 28 May.

The Services 4, 4A and 4B, funded by developer contributions, will replace services 60, 60A, 60B, X60 and 380 on the route between Exeter, Clyst Honiton, Cranbrook, Ottery St. Mary, Honiton and Axminster.

Devon County Council’s existing funding for Service 380 along this route will also continue towards the additional services.

Flybe now offering twice-weekly service from Exeter to Nice

After a four year absence, Exeter-based airline Flybe has started flying to Nice with a twice-weekly service from Exeter.

National Trust volunteers make an unprecedented contribution on Exmoor

In the past year nearly 45,000 hours of volunteer time have been devoted to looking after National Trust owned property on Exmoor.

The latest figures for volunteering on just the National Trust properties inside the Exmoor National Park show that 748 volunteers contributed an astonishing 44,470 volunteer hours in the twelve month period to March 2013.

The Highways Agency is urging drivers to take extra care and obey speed limits at roadworks in Devon and Cornwall, to prevent deaths and injurie among both road users and road workers.
