Peninsula celebrates budding success of new venture

Peninsula Private Medical Services opened its doors to invited guests for the ‘official’ launch Waterloo Court Health and Wellbeing Hub near Uffculme.

With the service already up and running, and word spreading fast, the founders were keen to celebrate successes so far and have the opportunity to showcase the impressive capabilities to invited guests.

Devon patients rate their GP practice among best in the country

Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) member GP practices have been rated among the highest in the country – by the patients they serve.

A national survey showed that patient experience of local doctors’ surgeries in Devon was consistently better than the England average.

Almost nine in ten Devon patients said they would recommend their GP surgery to someone who has just moved to the area and 95 per cent said they had confidence and trust in their GP.

Advances in genetic sequencing diagnose Paralympic hopeful’s rare condition

National Paracycling Champion Tom Staniford has an extremely rare condition which, until now, has puzzled his doctors.

He is unable to store fat under his skin – yet has type 2 diabetes – and suffered hearing loss as a child. Care home doors will be swung open next week as Devon County Council homes join in with National Care Home Open Day.

NHS in Devon welcomes call to tackle public health issues

The NHS in Devon has welcomed the launch of a new national website to help councils and the NHS tackle public health challenges.
