Fancy yourself as a hard man/woman? Love a fiery vindaloo? Know your nagas from your New Mex XX, your Poblanos from your Pasillas?

If you think you can eat really hot chillies, Powderham Food Festival, held this weekend, is THE place to test your taste buds.

Run by chilli connoisseurs, Clifton Chilli Club, whose mission it is to introduce, encourage, educate, have fun and share the love for all things chilli, the competition will certainly turn up the heat at this year’s Food Festival.

Held in conjunction with Dartmoor Chilli Farm and Hunters Ale, entrants will start with slightly hot chillies, and then progress up the Scoville Scale, dropping out when they can't take any more – all for the chance to carry away a case or two of Hunters Ales’ ‘Fire King’ ale and, more importantly, be crowned Powderham Food Festival’s Chilli Champ 2015. If you are up for the challenge, head to the Theatre Fire and Smoke at 3pm at Powderham Food Festival on Saturday or Sunday.
