Pawesome day out with pen farthing

Crediton Festival - probably the biggest community festival in the South West

High Sheriff and Mayor to launch Crediton Festival 90 events from 1 June to 13 July

This year’s six-week Crediton Festival will be launched on Saturday, 1 June by John Lee, the High Sheriff of Devon supported by the Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch.

John, a local farmer, was honoured with the title at a special service held at St Swithun’s Church, Shobrooke, at the end of March. He will launch the Festival at an opening ceremony at the Crediton Farmers' Market in Crediton Town Square where Crediton Town Band will also be present.

The Cygnet Theatre in Exeter has been re-branded by Krage Design and has a new look Summer Brochure.

Leading female a cappella quintet to perform in Exeter

Black Voices, a Birmingham-based performance ensemble renowned for its rich, powerful harmonies and stunning arrangements, are coming to Exeter on Saturday 8 June to do a concert and public workshop supported by St Thomas Gospel Choir.

Families rise to the challenge at Wembury Beach

The sunshine drew many families to Wembury beach over the bank holiday weekend to take part in "50 things to do before you are 11¾" with the South Devon National Trust Rangers. Families joined in a variety of activities including mini raft building, kite making, and a family orienteering challenge; as well as an evening rock pool ramble led by the Devon Wildlife Trust Marine Centre Wardens.

Local singer/songwriter, Charlotte Ward from Ide, near Exeter will take the stage on Sunday evening in her debut performance at Mama Stones, Exeter’s coolest live music venue.

14-year-old Charlotte is set to entertain with a mix of original songs and chart covers on keys and guitar. Charlotte’s style, velvety tones and amazing range belie her age and as a result she is through to the national heats of the UK’s newest talent competition, Teen Star.
