Some Like It Hotter

Anything Goes

The S.S. American, sailing from New York to England, carries an unusual group of passengers. Gala at Exeter Corn Exchange

Whole Lotta Led

Whole Lotta Led, the UK's only professional Led Zeppelin tribute band, have undergone some big changes of late but with incredible affect.  The band now recreates the sounds of Led Zeppelin's studio albums with an astonishing accuracy. Barn Dance

Summer Sundays on the Quay

Exeter Canal and Quay Trust hope to revitalise Sundays on the Quay this summer with a stunning programme of free jazz and street theatre each week starting on Sunday 14 July and running right through the summer until Sunday 1 September. The programme presents a range of some of the top traditional, New Orleans Jazz bands from the South West featuring John Shillito’s Select Six, the Sunset Café Stompers, Des Bacon’s Red Hot Syncopators, the Charleston Dandies, the Dart Valley Stompers and the ever popular City Steam Jazz Band.

Tiverton Balloon & Music Festival 2013

Returning bigger and better for 2013 this year's Balloon Festival features a packed programme of events. There will be over 35 musical acts, a comedy stage (on Friday night), Taste of the West food pavilion, Westcountry ales and cider, craft ctalls, vintage aircraft displays, mountain bike stunt teams, archery, falconry, fire and light shows, a planetarium, workshops and of course, Mass Ascents featuring a whole host of colourful Hot Air Balloons including Special Shapes and lots more. City of Exeter Regatta

Over 100 sprint races take place over a 400 metre course along the River Exe. This provides close, exciting racing all day with eights, coxed fours, pairs, quads and single and double sculls. The regatta is a great day out for the family in a superb location.  Make the most of it by bringing a picnic or treat yourself in one of the local cafes, restaurants or bars. The racing gets under way at 10.30am and the event closes at 6pm.  www.exeter-regatta.co.uk

Exeter City FC Funday

Exeter City FC have again arranged a pre-season Funday for all the family: 11am – the Supporters’ Trust, Red Army and other supporters’ groups will run stalls in Red Square, as well as loads of other fun and games like last year’s Funday; 11.30am – an hour-long players’ training session begins on the St James Park pitch, and Paul Tisdale will lead parts of the session with a microphone; 1pm – after the players have had lunch, official squad photos will be taken on the pitch; 1.45pm – fans are invited to join the team on the Big Bank for a 2013/14 photo; 2pm – players will sign autographs for supporters.  www.exetercityfc.co.uk

Exeter Art Society Spring Exhibition

Exeter Art Society's Spring Exhibition takes place on Saturday and Sunday. As well as the Art Exhibition, the churchfete will also be taking place at the same time, so there will be plenty to see and do for all ages. Admission is free and opening times are Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday noon-6pm.

Summer craft exhibition: Make a Mark
Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Riverside Mill, Bovey Tracey
The Guild’s annual summer exhibition by its Membership features handling pieces, samples, sketches and background material alongside finished craft work. It aims to reveal the relationships between physical objects and the emotional journey or technical processes behind their making. The exhibition runs from 29 June - 1 September 2013.  www.crafts.org.uk

Summer exhibition at the Real Food Cafe
Real Food Store, 11-13 Paris Street, Exeter
An evocative exhibition of Devon landscapes showing throughout July and August features the work of two photographers, Natalie Christie and Martin Sharpe. Christie captures landscape through artistic eyes and the selection of her works large and small is stunning, including summer grasses against a stormy sky and crashing waves. Sharpe’s work is abstract with an emphasis on line, shape, pattern and beautiful spectrums of colour. All of the works are available for sale and can be ordered in different sizes. Greeting cards reproducing the artists work will also be available to purchase. Don’t miss this exceptional photographic art. The exhibition is in the Real Food Store upstairs café, so you can enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat at the same time!
