This Christmas, families are invited celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Ernest Shackleton’s famous expedition across the ice sheets of the Antarctic, with a magical family Christmas show at Exeter Phoenix.

Join Ernie and his host of intrepid adventurers and husky dogs as they embark on an adventure filled with songs, penguins and Great British spirit!

Quirk Theatre’s new show Ernie and The Sea of Ice will mark the fourteenth year of collaboration with Exeter Phoenix, as they ignite young imaginations and bring wonderfully creative live theatre to nearly four thousand people at Christmas time. With wit, innovation and a good deal of silliness, they deliver a refreshing alternative to the traditional winter pantomime.

Setting off on the good ship Endurance with a brave crew, watch as Ernie’s dream comes true – an adventure across the ice to the frozen world of Antarctica. Battling through huge seas and snow storms until…CRACK! The ship gets stuck in the ice. An unbelievable tale of derring-do and pure determination.

Known for theirinventive approach to live theatre, Ernie and The Sea of Ice promises to wow audiences with clever projection tricks, wonderful songs, as well as some brilliantly fun opportunities for children to get involved (if they want to)!

Performances take place between Sunday 18th December and Tuesday 3rd Jan at Exeter Phoenix.
