Broadclyst Fun Day 2025 Raises Record £8,000 for Local Community Groups

Broadclyst Parish Council is delighted to announce that this year’s Broadclyst Fun Day, held on Saturday 28 June 2025, was an outstanding success, raising a record £8,000 which is now being returned directly to local community groups who took part.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, volunteers, stallholders, and visitors, the 2025 Fun Day saw a record number of stalls and the widest participation to date from local organisations. The Parish Council extends particular thanks to our generous sponsors, whose financial and practical contributions made it possible to provide free family activities and ensure the event’s success.

The Recreation Ground was alive with activity throughout the day, with highlights including the miniature steam railway, livestock, bike workshops, and free attractions such as face painting, forest school sessions, and circus skills workshops. Visitors enjoyed children’s races, the dog show, classic motorbikes, and the ever-popular egg throw, alongside a wide choice of food and drink – from BBQ and hog roast to wood-fired pizza, Ceylonese cuisine, and cream teas.

The event not only provided a fantastic day of entertainment for all ages, but also strengthened community ties and raised vital funds to support local projects, activities, and services. Over 60 trade and community stalls took part, including contributions from Clyst Vale Community College students, who were warmly welcomed to the event.

Parish Council Chair Cllr Henry Massey said: “Broadclyst Fun Day is a true celebration of our community spirit. To see so many residents, groups, and businesses come together – and to be able to return a record £8,000 to the very organisations that make our local community thrive – is a tremendous achievement. We are particularly grateful to our sponsors for helping to make this possible.”

Planning for Broadclyst Fun Day 2026 is already underway, and the Council looks forward to building on this year’s achievements with another day of celebration for the whole parish.
