Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

The Norman Family Charitable Trust, a grant making Charity based in Budleigh Salterton, has recently celebrated passing its £7 million milestone of grant donations since it began in 1979.

Cancer survivor to start Race for Life

A courageous schoolgirl who has survived leukaemia will sound an air horn to start Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in Exeter on Sunday, 27 July at 10am.

Jasmine Larkman, aged 11, from Crediton, will be the guest of honour at the event at Westpoint Exeter.

She will start the formidable army of nearly 4,000 women on their way round the 5k and 10k routes to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s pioneering work.

A senior case manager at Exeter based charity St Loye’s Foundation has addressed a national conference focussed on getting disadvantaged people into work and the challenges they face along the way.

800 people enjoy Proms at Bicton Park

Revellers danced the night away and waved their union jack flags at the Proms in Bicton Park, raising £13,600 for local charity, Hospiscare.

More than 800 people attended the event on a summer’s evening in the idyllic setting of the Grade 1 listed Italian gardens, surrounded by immaculately manicured lawns with beautiful flower beds and trees.

India’s “Pavarotti” Anando Mukerjee and soprano Laure Meloy performed with the Lympstone based South West Telecom Band and pianists Nicky and Mark Perry.

Staff at Go Ape Haldon Forest in Devon, near Exeter, are literally going bananas to support Teenage Cancer Trust.

Go Ape is the UK’s leading forest adventure and staff from the 28 sites across the country have devised the ‘Big Banana Relay’ to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

The relay will see the ‘Big Banana’ travelling a total of 1,823 miles across the UK with the Go Ape gorillas using the quirkiest forms of travel possible.

RGB announce first community fund winner

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce that Exeter based charity, Farms for City Children, is the first winner of their Well Built Community Fund.

The charity will be receiving £1,000 worth of shower to use at their Nethercott site near Iddesleigh.

Back in May, the builder’s merchant asked charities from across the region to get in contact and tell them how they could help them with a project. RGB was inundated with nominations and, after lengthy discussions, Farms for City Children was chosen to receive the donation of materials.

Exeter Chiefs star Kai Horstmann was on hand to proudly hand over the keys to the new FORCE Cancer Charity van, which has been partly funded by the Exeter Foundation.

Decade of charity golf days raises £109,000

Hospiscare is celebrating after raising £109,000 during a decade of the hugely popular Charity Golf Tournament held in Exeter.

A total of 46 teams, mainly from Exeter but also from all over the country, played in glorious sunshine at the Exeter Golf and Country Club.
