Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

Cycling Santas out in FORCE

The Exe Estuary Trail between Topsham and Exmouth will again see a colourful convoy of Santas on bikes in the build-up to Christmas.

This year’s FORCE Cancer Charity Santa Cycle is on Saturday (December 5) when 100 people with red suits and white beards will set out for the coast from Topsham Rugby Club and return by boat.

With just four days to go until #GivingTuesday 2015, Exeter charity Rainbow Living is calling for local people to show their support for this global day of giving.

Taking place on December 1, #GivingTuesday follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday - two of the UK’s biggest shopping days. Children having fun on electric go-carts rides in Princesshay this summer has raised over £600 for Age UK Exeter. Operators Go-Kart Party donated 10% of all takings throughout the summer to Age UK Exeter as part of the continued annual charity partnership between Age UK Exeter and Princesshay.

Cyclists raise £12,000 for Exeter charities

A team of cyclists from Moshulu in Honiton have raised 12,400 for two Devon based charities by cycling 1,200 miles across the length of the country from John O'Groats to Lands End.

Father and son Neal and Matt Fulls and their friend Chris Pope took nine days in June to cycle from the tip of Scotland to the most westerly point in Cornwall in aid of their chosen charities – the Neonatal Unit (NNU) at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and FORCE Cancer Charity.

The Family Law Company, sponsors of The Bike Shed Theatre's Christmas show, are giving fifty tickets to local charities this Christmas.

England captain Wayne Rooney is spearheading a campaign celebrating the courage of South West children with cancer, as new figures released today (26 November) offer increased hope of surviving the disease. According to Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens, the rate of children dying from cancer has dropped by almost a quarter (24 per cent) in the UK in the last decade. WESC Foundation is seeking the support of greeting card consumers in the South West in the run up to Christmas as part of a new fundraising initiative.

The centre for visual impairment has partnered with Exeter-based DontSendMeACard.com to offer a range of e-cards that support WESC. The website offers users the ability to send e-cards in replacement of greeting cards and to donate how much they would have spent on sending cards.

Exeter lawyers get knitting for Age UK

A 15-strong team of knitters from law firm Stephens Scown LLP have been brandishing their needles in aid of the Exeter office’s chosen charity, Age UK Exeter. Stephens Scown’s knitting club has knitted as many little woolly hats as possible for the Exeter branch of Age UK, in support of the charity’s nationwide campaign “the Big Knit”. The club, comprised of 15 knitters of mixed experience, have knitted 375 hats in total.
