Devon charities announced as partners for huge weekend of live music

Four Devon-based charities have been selected to be official partners for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham runs for four nights from Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28, featuring headline shows from vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, seven-time GRAMMY winner Alanis Morissette and global superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Each night will see a local charity given the opportunity to have a team of fundraisers on site and for 2026 Live At Powderham will support Devon-based charities who make a big impact in the communities they serve....

The time till Oxjam Exeter’s main Takeover event is flying. But before the festival commences, Oxjam have their 4th and final fundraiser.

On Wednesday 7th September, they are throwing a pre-Oxjam, ‘warm-up’ gig at the Cavern Club in Exeter.

Here, they will be showcasing some awesome, musical talents from a local band: Firekind.

Dream-A-Way has welcomed the Dunn family to their newest caravan at beautiful Devon Cliffs, Sandy Bay. This was even more special as they became Dream-A-Way's 10,000th guests to holiday in one of the charity's beautiful holiday homes - an amazing total which would not have been achievable without the valued support of so many local individuals and companies. £400,000 grant for hearing loss charity

The charity Action on Hearing Loss has been awarded nearly £400,000 by the Big Lottery Fund to begin delivering vital information support for those with hearing loss in Devon and Cornwall and help reduce social isolation.

With nearly 300,000 people living with hearing loss in the two counties, the project titled ‘Hear to Inform and Support’ will work with local groups in the area such as community clubs and voluntary associations to make them more accessible and ensure that organisations increase their ability to support those with deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss.

RGB Building Supplies recently raised a fantastic £2,035 for its nominated charity, Prostate Cancer UK, during a golf day held at Bovey Castle in association with Exeter City FC. A total of 27 teams made up of suppliers, customers, staff and Exeter City players took part in the day with a team representing RGB’s Exeter branch winning the fourball competition and being awarded the Andy Shinner Memorial Trophy. Exeter teenager joins inspirational sailing trip

Harry Batten, 13, from Exeter recently took part in an inspirational sailing trip with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, along with 28 other young people in recovery from cancer. Harry joined the crew of one of six yachts, to sail around the Solent on the south coast from the 1st of August, on a four-day yachting adventure.

Banish the booze for Cancer Research

DEVON men and women are being challenged to ditch the drink to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The charity is launching Dryathlon in September, the original fundraising campaign that invites social drinkers to take a month-long break from alcohol. Dryathletes pledge to stay dry for a month and either get sponsored or donate the money they would have spent on alcohol to the charity. After eighteen months in the planning, Exeter School pupils, parents, staff, friends and alumni are putting their best wheel forward to raise £50,000 for charity, departing from Land's End on Monday 8 August.

A mental health charity in Exeter is set to reach out to more women thanks to a grand donation from a leading UK housebuilder. Mind in Exeter & East Devon has been handed a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes South West courtesy of the housebuilder’s Community Champions scheme, which sees a pot of £24,000 donated to local groups and charities.
