Health centre gets new patient communications link thanks to Exeter IT firm

A health centre has undergone a major telecommunications revamp to help further improve customer service for its 10,000 patients.

Roborough Surgery, in Eastcote Close, Plymouth, has had a new call handling system installed by IP Office Ltd based in Exeter, which hopes to boost service efficiency. The new installation was completed last week and now call-handling is via a full commercial contact centre.

A budding entrepreneur has opened his first hairdressing business in Ottery St Mary.

At just 19 years of age, Matt Booth is determined to make a success of Alley Barber, a traditional barber’s shop.

Funding available for SW tech businesses

The Technology Strategy Board (the UK’s Innovation Agency) has published its blueprint for growth, which outlines investments of over £400 million in British Innovation.

BAM to build £50m research centre

BAM Construction has been appointed to build the £50 million research centre known as the Living Systems Institute, for the University of Exeter. The construction value is £32 million.

BAM has offices in the Devon city and will use a predominately local supply chain to deliver the new building.

The centre will bring together mathematicians, scientists and engineers in a bid to revolutionise the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of human, animal and plant diseases.

Independent brewery takes special delivery

Some of the team at Exeter Brewery were on hand to take delivery of an exciting new piece of kit.

The 20 brewery barrel fermenter with a 4,000 litre capacity is made in stainless steel, and has been manufactured in the UK to a bespoke design.

Now taking the total of fermenters at their site on Cowley Bridge Road, Exeter to five, it will be used to brew their full range of seven beers including award-winning ales.
