Exeter accountants continues expansion

Devon accountancy firm, Thomas Westcott, have appointed an experienced business recovery and insolvency practitioner.

Jon Mitchell, who has over 10 years of experience in personal and corporate Insolvency, will be heading up the firm’s new Business Recovery and Insolvency department.

A Licenced Insolvency Practitioner by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England & Wales), Jon said: “I am looking forward to this exciting new challenge working with my the firms’ established colleagues to provide a rounded service to clients and contacts.”

Jon gained a golf scholarship to The University of Exeter where he graduated with a Maths and Economics degree in 2003. He went on to work for a top 20 Business Recovery and Insolvency firm in the South West, before joining Thomas Westcott in January 2015.

“There is huge potential here at Thomas Westcott to develop a strong team over the next couple of years. We aim to offer plain English advice to individuals or companies who might be facing financial distress. We will always look to avoid any formal insolvency procedures in the first instance, but where this is not possible, we will talk you through your options,” added Jon.

Jon has considerable experience in offering advice to companies, individuals and stakeholders on a range of options, including Company Voluntary Arrangements, Creditors Voluntary Liquidations, Compulsory Liquidations, Administrations (and ‘pre-packs’), Individual Voluntary Arrangements, Bankruptcy and Informal Debt solutions.
