Exeter Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 10th anniversary of their annual Business Dinner in style this year with over 320 people attending the prestigious black-tie event which took place on Friday 14 November at Sandy Park.

The guest speaker this year, sponsored by Ashfords LLP, was local sports hero, Jo Pavey.  Born in Honiton, Jo won worldwide recognition when she became the oldest female European champion in history to win gold at the 10,000m at the European Championships in August.

Derek Phillips, Vice President of Exeter Chamber of Commerce said, “It was a great occasion to celebrate the 10th Exeter Chamber business dinner and especially apt to have a local celebrity, Jo Pavey as the principle guest.”

Attendees at the annual dinner were treated to a sparkling wine reception followed by a sumptuous four course feast in Sandy Park’s newly refurbished conference room.

On the night, each delegate had the chance to nominate a charity of their choice to be entered into a draw with the winning charity receiving £500, courtesy of Ashfords.

The winning charity, nominated by Mark Watson of the Express & Echo, was Force Cancer Charity. Mark also won a bottle of Champagne, and two return flights from Exeter Airport to London City, donated by Flybe.
