The Family Law Company has announced the appointment of experienced family law Solicitor Imran Khodabocus to Shareholder.

His appointment brings the number of Shareholders to ten, contributing to the firm’s succession planning strategy.

Khodabocus joined the specialist law firm in 2016. He now heads up the Domestic Abuse team, specialising in children and domestic abuse matters which are complex and sensitive. He also acts for children and grandparents in care proceedings.

He has developed a widely respected expertise working on cases involving honour based abuse and has contributed views on the subject for news outlets including the Guardian and national television.

Joint MD Norman Hartnell said: “Since joining us, Imran has made a real impact on our business. Not only in terms of his expertise in particularly challenging areas of family law, but also his commitment to his team members in terms of career progression and wellbeing.”

Khodabocus commented: “I’m delighted to become an owner of The Family Law Company. Over the past nine years I have been consistently impressed by the company’s dedication to helping clients navigate some of the most difficult and emotionally challenging situations. I’m proud to be part of a company that genuinely cares about its clients, and its people.”

As well as the Shareholder appointment, there have been two significant recent promotions. Chanaleigh Cope, who started as Imran’s secretary, is now a Paralegal in the Children Law Team, whilst Bev Bridge, who worked in the company’s ‘First Impressions’ reception team, is now Marketing Assistant working alongside Director, Kerry England. Both promotions highlight the company’s commitment to providing career opportunities based on merit rather than experience.
