A fast-growing Exeter born construction consultancy is celebrating five years in business.

Coreus Group was founded by Andrew Clancy in 2019, with the vision to create a place that people want to work for and with. He left working in the corporate world to build a people centered business that continues to positively disrupt the construction industry and has seen significant growth in that time.

In the last year alone, Coreus has gone from strength to strength; opening new offices in Bristol & London, launching two new service lines, and welcoming 23 new members of staff to the business, bringing the total number of employees to 55.

This investment has been required following a record year of trading which saw turnover increase by 46 per cent on the previous year.

Coreus has also been a finalist in eleven awards, winning four in total. Additionally, their talented team has been finalists for several national awards, with Scott Moore winning RICS Young Surveyor of the Year, and becoming a fellow, further cementing their purpose of being a people centred business.

Andrew comments: ‘It has been a whirlwind five years and to see how the team and our client base has grown is humbling. I remember being told not to leave my job and take the risk of setting up in business and I’m glad I didn’t listen. Even a pandemic and some tough macro-economic conditions in the UK and abroad haven’t tempered our enthusiasm to build something special here at Coreus.’

On what the next five years will bring, Andy says he is optimistic: ‘We will continue to make our customers and people central to everything we do, and the plan is to grow sustainably and continue to create job opportunities, as well as open new offices across the UK. We are also in the first phase of creating the Coreus Foundation Trust, which will support many good causes across the region.’

Helen Da Costa, who is a Director at Coreus, is also optimistic about the future and says culture is everything at the business: ‘We are very proud of the culture we have built at Coreus because every member of the team is pulling in the same direction and heading towards a common goal. We offer unlimited holidays, an extensive health care package and flexible working as standard but it’s the sense of purpose everyone has that is so important. You must be intentional about culture and show everyone what the journey looks like and what their role in getting there will be.’

The business offers cost consultancy, project management, development management, building surveying, sustainability, and environmental consultancy to clients across various sectors.

Coreus continues to secure numerous transformational projects, playing an integral part in a range of high-profile schemes across the region, which bring communities together, provide employment opportunities, and strengthen local economies.

Clients span multiple sectors from Education, Residential, and Commercial to Healthcare and Blue Light, and include the NHS, Dorset Police, Somerset County Council, University of Exeter, University of Gloucestershire, Marriot Group, Swansea City Council and many more.
