LED’s fun-filled family day at Ocean Exmouth on Sunday 5 July was a huge success!

The local community came out in force to support LED when they opened the doors to Ocean on Sunday morning.

Excitement had been mounting all week on social media with hundreds of people on Facebook and Twitter confirming they would be coming along to the fun-filled family day.  Entry to the soft play was free all day and visitors were offered a free game of the newly installed Mad Game bowling.

Last, but not least, was an opportunity for visitors to take a tour of the stunning Ocean Suite and enjoy a cream tea on the terrace whilst admiring the breath-taking view.

Well over 1000 children climbed and clambered their way around the enormous soft play, while their parents relaxed and enjoyed tasty treats from the Ocean Deck café.

LED’s Chief Executive Peter Gilpin was on hand all day and said “We were bowled over by the enthusiasm and support from the local community.  Everyone was amazed by the first floor soft play and café and those who had never previously experienced the Ocean Suite were extremely impressed.  The opportunities it offers for private parties as well as corporate events make it a unique venue within East Devon.  The team at Ocean have worked tirelessly to ensure a warm welcome for the local community and we look forward to welcoming everyone back.”

Duty manager Jon Burden was delighted with the turnout: "Yesterday was a proud day for the whole team at LED. This iconic building was seen complete for the first time, in its best possible light and tremendously well supported by the people of Exmouth and East Devon. We look forward to welcoming both holiday makers and locals over the coming months"
