The South West Falcon from Stagecoach today celebrated carrying over half a million passengers by surprising customers boarding the service at Plymouth Coach Station.

Passengers waiting for the 10:00 departure were met by the Stagecoach team who were handing out millionaire’s shortbread, free tickets and Falcon goodies. Mascot Pat the Falcon was also there to pose for photos.

Bob Dennison, Stagecoach South West’s Managing Director, said: “It’s amazing that, a little over two years since we started, we’re already celebrating this incredible milestone – and it’s fantastic to be able to share our success with our customers. This achievement is all down to our brilliant staff and our loyal passengers.”

May is proving to be a bumper month for the Falcon. Last week saw the service pick up silver at the UK Coach Awards for ‘Top Express Operation with judges commenting that it was ‘head and shoulders above’ other operators.

On 21 May the operator is introducing a new timetable for the service which has been designed to improve reliability over the busy summer period. Changes include a separate Friday timetable, more frequent journeys at the weekends and a revised route into Bristol that uses the South Bristol link road and Long Ashton Expressway.

Bob added “The peak summer season means more holiday makers flying from Bristol Airport and more visitors heading to the South West. As we all know, this inevitably creates additional challenges on our road network. The new timetable takes these factors into consideration to provide an even better service for our customers.”

Customers can view the South West Falcon timetable and plan their journey at www.swfalcon.com or by downloading the new Stagecoach Bus app from App and Play stores. For travel updates on the go, customer can follow on twitter @flyswfalcon
