Residents' views on parking scheme wanted

Devon County Council is asking householders in the Rosebarn Lane area of Exeter if they want a resident's parking scheme.

Some residents in the area have contacted the council and said that they are finding it difficult to park near their homes.

The consultation, which runs from Friday 19 May until Wednesday 7 June, follows a petition  submitted by residents to the council at the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) on 14 November 2016.

Devon County Council now wants the views of as many people who might be affected by new restrictions in this area as possible.

The responses will help determine if a residents' parking scheme is created in the area.

The streets included in this consultation are: Aldrin Road, Armstrong Avenue, California Close, Collins Road (between Rosebarn Lane & Armstrong Avenue), Doriam Close, Florida Drive, Lebanon Close, Mayflower Avenue, Michigan Way, Monterey Gardens, Patricia Close, Pennsylvania Road (between Rosebarn Lane and Stoke Valley Road), Rosebarn Lane, Stoke Valley Road (between Pennsylvania Road and Plassey Close), The Fairway, Valley Park Close and Yew Tree Close.

Residents in the affected roads will be receiving a postcard giving details of the consultation and how to respond.

Comments can also be submitted online at or posted to Traffic Management Team, Devon County Council, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 4QD. Responses need to arrive by Wednesday 7th June 2017.

All correspondence will be recorded and a summary of the comments submitted will be reported to the Exeter HATOC at its meeting on Tuesday 4 July 2017.

At this meeting the councillors will decide if a residents parking scheme in this area should be pursued or not.
