Exeter City Futures is facilitating a collaboration between City Science and Lightfoot to offer free Lightfoot devices to drivers in Exeter.

One of the biggest problems with modern day motoring is that good drivers are paying for all the bad drivers out there on the road. Not to mention the air quality issues that bad drivers create.

Well, thanks to a new technology called Lightfoot, good drivers are now rewarded.

Although the technology is not being released to consumers until later this year, if you drive in or around Exeter for two or more days a week you could be eligible for a FREE Lightfoot device (worth £99) before it’s even launched.

This opportunity is thanks to a special collaboration between Lightfoot, Exeter City Futures and their trusted technical partner City Science to develop solutions for sustainable cities.

The team at Lightfoot have developed this clever little gadget to reward better drivers; what they call “Elite Drivers”. If you’re a smooth, efficient driver then your Lightfoot will reward you with discounts, benefits and prizes.

If you need a bit of a helping hand then your Lightfoot will give you gentle and helpful nudges, whilst you drive, to help you boost your fuel consumption and lower your emissions. This results in more money in your pocket, including things like cheaper insurance premiums and less wear and tear on your vehicle and tyres.

The giveaway is part of a wider goal to make Exeter a better city for its residents. The recipients of the free devices will be helping the region by enabling City Science to analyse congestion and traffic movement. This will support Exeter City Futures bold target to make Exeter energy independent and congestion free by 2025.

Devices are limited to 100 drivers only, and readers can register interest in claiming their free Lightfoot device at: http://www.lightfoot.co.uk/exeter
