Exeter Street Slide: Final ballot countdown begins

Heard about Exeter Street Slide and fancy taking on the giant 300ft waterslide this summer? The event you’ve been waiting for all summer is actually happening but you need to be quick to enter as the final ballot countdown has begun.

To be in with a chance to slide you must enter the ballot by 5pm on Monday 17 August or you could miss out on one of the hottest events this summer!

For one day only, on Sunday 6th September, Exeter Deaf Academy will transform Fore Street hill into a giant water slide for Exeter Street Slide - so you can see the summer out with a splash!

Exeter Street Slide, sponsored by Firewatch, is the first event of its kind to take place in Exeter. Inspired by the Bristol Park and Slide event, it’s sure to make a big splash this September! With just hours until the ballot closes, hopeful sliders are encouraged to enter quickly to be in with a chance to slide. This exciting event will be one the whole family can enjoy and remember – sliders both young and old are welcome to enter!

There are just 330 public places available to slide which have been in demand since the ballot opened on 30th July. The ballot, for a chance to slide, closes at 5pm on Monday 17th August and costs just £2 per entry. You can enter through the Exeter Street Slide website www.ExeterStreetSlide.co.uk or by text – simply text the word SLIDE followed by your full name to 70660. Texts cost £2 plus your standard network charge and do make sure you get the bill payers’ permission. Hopeful sliders can enter the ballot as many times as they like to increase their chances of securing a slide place. Ballot entries will be drawn at random using an independent electronic balloting system and all proceeds from the ballot will go to Exeter Deaf Academy, an essential local charity.

Tori Webb, Exeter Deaf Academy’s Community and Corporate Fundraising Manager added, “The interest in Exeter Street Slide has been fantastic but everyone needs to enter the ballot now to be in with a chance to slide! It’s now the final countdown to 5pm on Monday when the ballot closes. Exeter Street Slide is going to be a brilliant event and a great way to finish off the summer so enter now before it’s too late!”
