The Dean of Exeter will give the latest theological lecture as part of Exeter Cathedral’s ‘Learning for Discipleship’ series next week.

Dr Jonathan Draper, who was Director of Studies in the theology faculty at Oxford University (before holding positions at York Minster and, ultimately, Exeter) will question whether we can use our understanding of evolution and genetics to understand why churches in different contexts (and those subject to different kinds of environmental pressures) move in different theological directions.

Canon Anna Norman-Walker, Canon Chancellor (with oversight of Exeter Cathedral’s learning programme), said: “The Cathedral has long been a place of debate and discourse, with more opportunities arising through our monthly Holy Ground service and a reinvigorated series of lectures. I’m delighted that Dean Jonathan will join our programme of speakers in 2016.”

The lecture takes place on Tuesday 15th March at 19.30, admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. Please register online www.exeter-cathedral.org.uk/boxoffice or call 01392 285983.
