TSB Okehampton is pleased to announce Scallywags Pre-School is set to benefit from fundraising and volunteering support as the Bank’s new Local Charity Partner for the next 12 months and has presented them with a cheque for £100 to kick-start the partnership.

TSB has given more than £1.7 million to local causes across Britain since its local charity partnerships launched in 2015.  This year a record 27,000 nominations were received from local charities across the country to join the programme which sees TSB Partners from 550 branches and eight office sites volunteer and raise money on behalf of the chosen charities.

Nicola Furse, Bank Manager, TSB Okehampton comments:  “Our Local Charity Partnership programme is all about working in partnership to help support the local causes that are the lifeblood of many communities across Britain.  It’s what we’re all about at TSB and we are now entering into our third year of supporting a local charity at our branch, here in Okehampton.

“I am thrilled to welcome Scallywags Pre-School as our new Local Charity Partner which is close to our hearts here in Okehampton because of the work it does in providing quality education for children aged from two to five years old — we can’t wait to get started.”

Lorraine Crocker, Play Leader, Scallywags Pre-School says:  “We are delighted to have been chosen as TSB Okehampton’s new Local Charity Partner.  The team’s support will make a really positive impact on our charity and the work we do here in Okehampton.”

How TSB supports Local Charity Partners

TSB’s sole focus is to serve local people and businesses which, in turn, helps fuel local economies across Britain.  Instead of having a centrally chosen charity of the year, Partners working at TSB choose the cause they want to support.   Once chosen, each branch or site is given an initial donation by TSB to kick-start the partnership.

As well as receiving valuable funds, TSB’s charity partners have reported other benefits from the programme, including a higher local profile, increased staff and volunteer morale, and the ability to help more people.
